What We Do
Setting out to study teaching English as a second language, Ustadha Saima had dreams of traveling the world, but Allah had a different plan. While completing her teacher certification and Masters in Education at George Mason University, she was also working towards an ijazah in Tajweed, and later had the opportunity to travel to Jordan to receive ijaazat from Shyookh in Amman, Jordan as well.
By the time she was ready to write her Master’s thesis, Ustadha Saima was a full time Qur’an teacher at the All Dulles Area Muslim Society. Hoping to bring together her training in Qur’anic recitation, and her experience and education in curriculum and instruction, she chose to write her Master’s thesis on the effectiveness of the color coded Tajweed Qur’an.
Today, she takes the skills she has acquired through both her Qur’anic Studies and her formal education to help Qur’an schools in the United States and the United Kingdom to train teachers, develop curricula that will produce results, as well as conduct classroom observations and provide constructive and helpful suggestions for teachers and schools.
